Why customize
Out of the box, Dotio is a generalist. With a little teaching, it becomes a specialist in your business. That means better answers, fewer clarifying questions, and faster work.
Memory
Dotio has a memory — facts you want it to always remember. You add to it by saying things like:
“Remember that our fiscal year ends June 30.”
“Remember that we use Dutch GAAP.”
“Remember to always categorize Uber rides under ‘travel’.”
Dotio acknowledges and saves it. From then on, every conversation starts with that context.
Viewing and editing memory
Go to Settings → Agents → Memory. You see everything Dotio knows about your business. You can edit or delete any entry.
Keep memory focused on facts and rules, not preferences that change often.
Naming
If your team calls Dotio something specific (“Finance Boss,” “Numbers Genie”), rename it. Go to Settings → Agents → Name. Type the new name. Save.
Tone
Some teams prefer formal, some prefer casual. Pick a tone in Settings → Agents → Tone. This affects how responses are phrased.
Turning capabilities on and off
In Settings → Agents, you can enable or disable specific capabilities. If you don’t use tax features, turn them off. If you want to focus Dotio on bookkeeping only, keep that on and disable the rest. Anything disabled can be re-enabled any time.
